The Batman Set Photos Reveal First Looks At Robert Pattinson As Bruce Wayne

Finally, production for The Batman by DC Comics and Warner Bros. is underway, as it edges ever closer to its 2021 release. The main cast has essentially been confirmed, but it looks as though we now have an indication of how Matt Reeves’ rendition of Gotham City and the Dark Knight might look.

Recently, Twitter user Wade Gravett released a series of The Batman set photos near the vicinity of his office in London, revealing what looks to be a shoot for an outdoor scene involving the Gotham Police Department and various media outlets based on the DC Comics fictional version of New York City.

Also, if you squint closer, it looks as though we may have the first looks at Colin Farrell as the Penguin, sporting a slick, silver hairdo and his iconic umbrella.

However, most interestingly, Gravett posted another Tweet with a curious photo of Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman on a motorcycle.

Though it’s virtually impossible to tell whether the man on the bike is actually Pattinson himself, Gravett posted up an interesting observation he made. The picture above shows what looks to be a stunt double or stand-in wearing the helmet, and later on in the day Pattinson replaced the double in preparation for a close-up shot.

Gravett’s other Tweet below all but confirms this:

In any case, it does spark imagination as to how Robert Pattinson might look in the cape and cowl. For now, these set photos will have to do to whet our appetites. While not featured in the photos, we do know that Pattinson and Farrell will be joined by the likes of Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Peter Sarsgaard in an unconfirmed role.

The Batman is slated to release in theatres on June 25, 2021.
